Tour de Cure - Summit to Surf XIII

I just signed up for the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure - Summit to Surf XIII bike ride.  The ride takes place on July 26th on Mt. Hood.  There are seven different ride options: 100, 75, 68, 56, 48, 36, and 10 miles. This will be my third year riding in the event and I opted for the 68 mile ride.  This will be the last year that the ride takes place on Mt. Hood, so I highly recommend you sign up!  Leave me a comment if you are going.

I’m riding this year and I’ve ridden the event other years. I’m disappointed to learn this is the last year it will take place on Mt. Hood. I haven’t heard the reason. Do you know?

I’m not sure what the reason is. I am disappointed as well. This has been my favorite ride of the year due the ride up to Timberline Lodge.

I rode yesterday from Welches to Hood River, for my 13th year (I have ridden every one of the events). I have type 1 diabetes. I want to thank all the other riders, as well as people who have sponsored me and other riders for their generous support over the life of the ride.
